For more than forty years, Kenny Ball has flown the flag for his particular brand of 'Traditional jazz' all over the world.  It is a tribute to his stamina and musical integrity that Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen are as popular today as they were back in 1960 when they had their first chart hit with “Samantha”.

Con & Dec
CON & DEC THE BACHELORS
Sunday 27th July
8.00pm

Con & Dec The Bachelors are  the most hardworking, best value for money, original 'star name' act on the circuit today.

They forged pop history with a string of major hits throughout the 60s starting with “Charmaine”, which reached number 5 in early 1963, followed by further enormous hits with "I Believe", "Faraway Places", "Whispering Diane", "Ramona", "I Wouldn't Trade You For The World", "Marie", "Hello Dolly", "The Sound Of Silence", and "Marta" - 17 hit singles in all. Indeed, they even outdid 'The Beatles' in 1964 by having 5 major chart entries.

THE PHANTOM AND THE MUSICALS

Monday 28th July
8.00pm

Barry Walker's 'Smackee' return with their award-winning show of all that is best from London's West End and New York's Broadway. This dynamic presentation features over two hours of non-stop greats including such classics as 'Phantom & The Opera', 'Les Misérables', 'Calamity Jane', 'The Sound Of Music', 'Chicago', 'The King & I', and 'Grease', to name but a few! This is a night of musical splendour you must not miss!

Tickets: £16.00
Other major performance successes quickly followed including: seasons at The London Palladium and Victoria Palace;  headlining summer seasons at Blackpool;  record-breaking pantomime seasons;  two further appearances on “The Ed Sullivan Show” and “Johnny Carson Show” in America;  their first tour of Australia;  two Royal Command performances;  several “top of the bill” appearances on “Sunday Night at the London Palladium”;  “Top of the Pops”;  “Ready Steady Go”; and they even had their own TV series on both ITV and BBC.  They continue to do numerous live cabaret and concert performances for their loyal army of fans at major venues throughout the country and overseas.

Tickets: £15.50
From that time on hit after hit came pouring out until the final tally was fourteen top-thirty records, eclipsing even Kenny’s idol, the great Louis Armstrong’s total – an achievement which has never been equalled by any other jazz artist and which included “Midnight in Moscow”, a top two in both the UK and the USA.

Today, mention the name Kenny Ball and everyone knows who he is. He is identified with great jazz but also wonderful entertainment, for Kenny, like Louis Armstrong, believes in making jazz attractive to the general public.
If any proof was needed here it is that Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen is, undoubtedly, the most successful British jazz band ever!
